A buyer-seller marketplace with EU residency and GDPR baked in
Compose a two-sided marketplace with Stripe Connect, EU-hosted Neon, Cloudflare Workers, and GDPR cookie consent — without writing the compliance plumbing yourself.
Globe
EU data residency by default
Buyer and seller data is stored in a dedicated Neon Postgres project in the EU region. Cloudflare Workers in the EU zone handle edge requests. No US data transfer for marketplace transaction data.
CreditCard
Stripe Connect, composed in
The stripe-connect-marketplace module scaffolds a multi-party payment flow — connected accounts, platform fees, payouts, and disputes — with GDPR-compliant data handling for financial personal data.
ShieldCheck
GDPR consent before first transaction
Cookie consent, a privacy policy generated from your module selection, and a DSAR portal are included from the first deploy. Buyers and sellers can request, export, or delete their data without an engineering ticket.
How it works
Compose these modules
Two-sided marketplace
Buyers and sellers, EU-hosted. Each party has an account, a role, and a transaction history in the audit log. Stripe Connect handles payouts; the compliance-eu module handles GDPR.
stripe-connect-marketplace module + compliance-eu module + Better Auth
Stripe Connect connected accounts
Sellers onboard via Stripe Connect standard accounts — Stripe handles KYC and payout routing. The marketplace module scaffolds the OAuth flow, webhook handlers, and payout status display.
stripe-connect-marketplace module
Buyer and seller DSAR portal
Both buyers and sellers can submit data-subject requests — access, erasure, portability — via a branded portal. The workflow is pre-wired; you configure your data categories.
compliance-eu module
Transaction audit log
Every transaction, dispute, and account-status change is recorded in the hash-chained audit log. Exportable for financial compliance review.

Common questions
Does Stripe Connect store data in the EU?
Stripe is a US company. Financial data processed by Stripe (card data, KYC data, payout data) is subject to Stripe's data processing terms and transfer mechanisms, not alleex's. The alleex DPA covers the alleex platform and your Neon/Cloudflare data. Stripe's own EU data addendum covers Stripe-processed data — link to Stripe's terms when disclosing to users.
Can I add product listings and reviews to the marketplace?
Yes. The marketplace scaffold provides the payment and auth foundation. Product listings, reviews, search, and discovery are business logic you build on top — either in the ejected repo or by composing additional modules from the catalog.
How does GDPR apply to a marketplace with both buyers and sellers?
Your marketplace is a data controller for both buyers and sellers. Each party can submit a DSAR. The compliance-eu module's DSAR workflow handles both user types — you configure which data categories each role holds. This is information, not legal advice.
Is there a transaction fee on top of Stripe's fees?
alleex charges no transaction fee. Stripe's standard fees apply to payment processing. Your platform fee to sellers is configured in the Stripe Connect module — that is your revenue, not alleex's.
